As a matter of fact we do have a Panasonic 6.0 somethin or other phone nearby,which may also explain why we didn't have the prob in the other place b/c the phone was in the other room. Now most of the time we're not on the phone when the conn goes down.
I think the wires are old copper since this house is so old,and no we don't have FIOS.
If your nearby neighbors have a cordless phone, their phone could be interfering with your wi-fi connection when they use it. You could try switching your wi-fi to a different channel and if that doesn't work, consider upgrading all of your computers to use wireless.

We don't have wi-fi or laptops,we do have wireless on the computers.

My opinion is broadband is the best.because i can use all the connection.but broadband is one of the best in internet.
Well that's kind of a given, but broadband encompasses a wide variety of connection types, DSL, cable, fios, etc.
