Virgin Mobile internet services ???? (DSL, email, work, USB)

I'm moving to Hawaii, wanting info on Virgin Mobile internet, their web site didn't answer my ?. I want to be able to use it anywhere. They have one that plugs into the USB port. Thanks for any advice

I have the Virgin Mobile 3g usb adapter. It works on my Asus Netbook with Windows 7 starter (32 bit) edition. Remember 3g is like slow DSL - okay for general web surfing and email while on the road, but not for streaming movies. Virgin Mobile has not been without its share of problems - in March 2013 while travelling, with a layover in Houston Hobby, their service simply didn't work. I found this somewhat related headline:

I did not experience any problems with another trip in June 2013, with a layover in Phoenix International. I have the pay as you go plan so when I have to travel I order a month's worth of service - 500 megabytes for 30 days for $20. I chose 3g over 4g because 3g penetrates buildings better than 4g, and 3g is generally available in more places than 4g. Pay as you go may be a good option just to see if the service works dependably in the Aloha state.

These articles are about Virgin Mobile UK and have nothing to do with the USA service. The UK version is a completely different network with completely different ownership.

Virgin Mobile's broadband uses 4G Wimax towers from Clear. Clear does have coverage in Hawaii. If you want to know if 4G service is available in the areas you need to use it in, check out the coverage maps at 4G Wimax Internet Coverage Map with Service Area | CLEAR

If 4G's not available in the areas you need, the connection you'll have is 3G on Sprint towers. It'll be a much slower connection, closer to dialup than broadband. You can check the coverage for that service at Check Nationwide Prepaid Voice, Data & 4G Coverage | Virgin Mobile
