Is the Beech Grove area a safe place to live? When I lived in Indy in the early '90s, I worked at St. Francis, and it didn't seem too bad. How is it now? Would you recommend it to a friend?

Beech Grove has, at least as of a couple of years ago, one of the lowest crime rates in Marion County. Generally speaking it is a very safe area.

<mod edit, inflamatory> But if it has a low crime rate than What the Hell, right? I had a friend that lived there, it wasn't that bad. <mod edit, inflamatory>

By <the innflammatory comment> do you mean ignorant racists, or meth-heads? Ignorant racists I deal with on a daily basis, the houses-turned-labs next door blowing up I try to avoid.

obviously, the <inflamatory> poster feels that they are above Beech Grove ... take that for what it's worth. I've never heard of any major crimes going on in Beech Grove ... it's a bucolic, blue collar area of Indianapolis. Ignorance is everywhere, as one can see.

I lived a few blocks west of the Beech Grove city limits for over 10 years. I thought of it as very quite. I would frequent the parks often with my 3-year old.

Beech Grove is definately among the safest areas of Indianapolis-Marion County. I was born there (at the end of the 70s) but moved out when I was 25. I now live in AZ and go back to Indy about 2 or 3 times a year 2 C family. It still hasnt changed much. Thats a good thing!
