I am considering a move to the Indianapolis area. I was considering transfering to the University of Indianapolis's business school. What is the school like? Does it have a good reputation with employers? I am curious to hear everyones opinion.

Obviously, the U of I's business school doesn't come close to that of IU and Purdue in terms of recognition. That said, I think most see UIndy as a decent little undergraduate school. It is small, however, and not talked about in the way small schools like DePauw, Wabash, Butler and Valpo are. When I was taking MBA classes there, my observation was that the undergrads seemed to be happy there.

IU and Purdue are definitely better in Business (and most other areas) than UIndy. I'm not sure where you're transferring from, but UIndy is certainly not a major or first tier school. Unless you have a certain reason to move to Indy, it seems that it might not be worth moving just to attend UIndy.

That depends on the program. Its physical and occupational therapy programs are considered among the best in the country.

I agree it may not be worth it to relocate just to attend UIndy, but have you considered IUPUI? You can get an IU or Purdue business degree and live in Indy.

To answer your other question, UIndy has a good reputation among Indianapolis companies, but most companies outside Indianapolis probably don't know a lot about UIndy because it's relatively small.

Side note: IUPUI may be cheaper...I'm pretty sure UIndy is a private school.

UIndy may not be a first tier school; but it is certainly a good school and well worth moving here if you want to go there.

The attitude that all schools are inferior to IU and Purdue is false.

Toxic ... he's stating he wants to go to the B-school. I'd suggest IUPUI over UIndy for that ... better name recognition and cheaper. If he wanted to get into one of the therapies ... then by all means, UIndy is THE place.
