Hello Everyone,

We're planning to make a move to Indiana and would need help in apartment search with Indian communities around. We're also planning to buy a home in one of the suburbs (Carmel or Fishers) in a few months' time since we've heard that there are lots of Desi Indians around these areas. Thus hoping to get some Desi communities in and around these areas. Any input from locals would be appreciated.

(**Please don't assume that we have got any issue(s) with any non-desi community, rather, it's just a family preference.)

Thank You, Everyone....!!!

I'm not sure about Desi Indians, but Carmel does have a pretty decent Indian community. I'm not sure, however, if there is a greater concentration of Indians in any one area of Carmel or if they happen to be more spread out. In Fishers, the Asian population is more Middle Eastern Muslim than Indian. Not sure how much help this is.

Northwestern Carmel is probably the most Indian part of our metro area, except maybe some Sikh communities in Franklin township on the south side of Indy. Most of Carmel is majority white but it’s a community that is diversifying as high earners both American and immigrant move in.

Big Sikh community in Greenwood, if that matters. Not sure if it's relative to Desi.
