What do you think of it. I have moved to IN from OR and am used to having weekends spent at the beach. I know it is not the same but do you feel that it is entertaining and relaxing?

Indiana beach is a resort ... not quite what you are used to, I'm sure. Depending on where you are and how much you want to drive, I'd head up to the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore near Chesterton.

I agree with domergurl. Indiana Beach isn't so much a beach as an amusement park. The real beaches in Indiana are on the shores of Lake Michigan. It's probably just an extra 60-90 minutes drive. Lake Michigan is the closest thing we have to an ocean.

And if you swim in Lake Michigan in the summer you will still have thawed testicles when you get out of the water!! Compared to the cold waters of the Pacific in Oregon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No beaches per say but we do have some decent lakes to have a nice beer next to. Within the indy city limits i recomend eagle creek resevoir but an hour or two drive to the bloomington area will provide much better results.
