Honest opinions about the Greenwood area. I found a place there (internet) that seems to fit me just right, but I can't find much on the community. Like... Is a mix community (with all races) shopping, and freeway access. Any info will be helpful.

Not a big fan of greenwood. Too much traffic and too commercial. It doesn't really have an identity either. I would go elsewhere.

If you have kids in school, focus on the White River Twp area, Center Grove schools.

Personally I like the Greenwood area but it is growing BIG time. It is very commercial so if you like being close to everything, it's a good choice.

Races? Mostly white but not completely full of rednecks. Right now there is a growing Shirka community that have found the Greenwood area to be very open and accepting. I also know of several Poles who live there.

I can understand that. I hate Castleton. To me it's a pain getting in and out.

Greenwood Mall - here is how I get in and out of it. I enter into the mall off of Madison Avenue at the light into the middle of the parking lot by Sears. Inside the parking lot I turn right and then park right there at Sears. No matter where I go in the mall, I will always park there at Sears since to me it's the easiest to get in the mall. Leaving I will go the the loop around the outside of the parking area and drive around the back side of the mall until I get to the access road the runs by the water tower. I exit the mall at the small road over by Ralley's that connects to 31. Going out this way, I really never have to deal with trying go out by a light. It's easy in and out.

I'm still learning the area. For me, Castleton is a breeze. I turn off Allisonville Road to a side road that's by Lifetime Fitness (Castle... something). I take the light across 86th and park by Dick's Golf store entrance.

I don't understand why everyone complains about Castleton traffic - I never have any problems. Sure maybe the last few Saturdays before Christmas is a little congested - but really I never have any problems
