Also the only airport to be named in J.D. Power & Associates last year.

Very cool! I fly to Indy a lot (it's where I'm from originally) and I find the airport to be so user-friendly, clean, and I love the decor and artwork.

I've only flown out of the new terminal once, but have visiting other times to drop off/pick people up, but it is such a great airport. It is almost like Indianapolis is over-compensating for something.

I really like our airport, just wish there were more direct flights available. Sometimes we have to drive to O'Hare for to avoid a change of planes.

I haven't been to enough airports to know how great ours is compared to others. It is easy to get to, easy to park, easy to get around, especially compared to some of the airports I have been to, like Orlando, McCarren, O'Hare, Midway. But I do know that I really like the airport. It's a minor inconvenience having to go so far down I-70 only to have to come back to the terminal, but that's a very minor thing. I'm always on the fence about wanting more direct flights. I do like getting their faster and all at one time. But I also like being able to get off the plan for a while if it's a 4-5 hour flight to the west coast.

You drive to Chicago (and way out to O'Hare) to avoid changing planes? Wow.

Change of planes cost more than direct flights. If you can get good parking, minus the travel time and gas, it can be cost effective. Will be flying to Vegas this summer and got $6 a day parking near O'Hare for the duration. 294 blows big time with traffic and tolls yet is still cheaper than taking the MegaBus and then jumping on the Blue Line as it would cost more to park in Indianapolis for the duration.

Other than that, airports have to negotiate with airlines and with all of the mergers taking place, smaller airports tend to get the shaft. Before the taxi fees use to kill IIA at the old terminal because the runways were so far away. Now it sits right between them so that shouldn't be that big of an issue with airlines

To save hundreds of dollars and one or more plane changes, yes.

The last time I flew from Anchorage to Indy it was a full 24 hours between the Anchorage airport and landing at Indy and I said I would never do that again.

I drive to Chicago and take a direct flight.

I was impressed with the Indy airport's design, spaciousness and convenience. I was not impressed that there are surprisingly few direct flights for a city of such size, and being the only major airport within 2 hours. For instance, fewer than Milwaukee and far fewer than Cincinnati.
