Same situation -- These are already at The Fashion Mall.

Nothing at all against Indy, but I don't--at least no time soon.
I'm not sure. I feel that if it was something unique to the market, like Armani Exchange, it could. Maybe a high-end furniture store like CB2.

So many things I don't like about this project. First and foremost in the giant LED video screen that will be 3 stories tall. I wouldn't be opposed to that downtown around Circle Centre or something, but it seems to completely take away from the charm of Mass Ave. They claim it will only be used to display art, but I feel advertisements will come eventually.

Second thing that upsets me is this quote from one of the developers: "I'd love to see some national tenants help solidify the local tenants and help expand the trade area." No, no, no, no, no. The charm of Mass Ave is that you can eat and shop (mostly) without setting foot in a place that has a location outside Indy or the suburbs!

I do like having something here to replace the firestation. And with plans to build up around the tower across the street, Mass Ave could finally feel like one whole, connected street in a few years instead of the giant firestation and condo tower dividing things in the middle. But at least don't let this giant electronic screen stay. What are your thoughts?
I think it would only just add more appeal to the Arts District. I'm all for it. After all it is the Arts District. I would even go further by embedding video screens into the sidewalks. I've seen some crazy stuff out in Asia. Another idea is converting some of the store front windows into digital glass. You can add motion sensors that create graphics reacting to pedestrian movement. Chicago doesn't have a Times Square, Ginza or Pica Dilly Circus. Sure we can have our own version.

Here are some examples in NYC and London

This is London's Pica Dilly Circus. A good example for video screens on a smaller scale. Apparently, you can have them braced and stacked on top of the buildings. This is something that Mass Ave. Arts District, Monument Circle, Circle Centre etc could do. Other areas of downtown have plenty of sites. Like you mentioned Circle Centre could be an excellent choice for a video screen or screens.

This was NYC's Times Square a week before Sandy hit. There are many different video screens fixed on the side of the buildings along with numerous billboards. Good thing I left just in time because the power went out where I was staying at. Just some examples on a grander scale

Mass Avenue or Meridian Street corridor "After" (just kidding folks)
