Denver probably has more going for it than Indianapolis does at this time, I say this with a chagrin tone because even though I have never visited Denver, I have heard lots of good stories and have also heard the city and metro has a lot of good vibes, plus they have very scenic topography

Yes and No, I guess it depends on the individual. There's a lot of good things going on in Denver, but I just didn't see or feel the hype that others proclaim. There's a lot of good about the midwest/Indy too. They both have pros and cons, but which is best is subjective.

I agree. Denver is a great place, Indianapolis can't compete. It's scenic and cosmopolitan.

I spent a considerable amount of time in both cities so I know them both equally well. There are things I like about both cities. Both are lacking in diversity. Denver has a large Hispanic population whereas Indianapolis' has an equally large African American population. Denver is very scenic but it doesn't fit my definition of cosmopolitan but never does Indianapolis. Denver is somewhat isolated, whereas Indianapolis is a hop, skip and jump away from several major urban center.

Not really all that cosmopolitan from what I saw on my brief visit.

The poster is from TN. It probably is cosmopolitan by comparison.

Ya but we're comparing to Indy.

Not that Indy is a Mecca of cosmopolitanism, mind you - but I'm pretty sure the biggest attraction in Denver is the Coors brewery.

Denver has a nice downtown. Coors is in Golden, which is a suburb. They have a good art museum (though IMA is probably better, despite the recent price increase), and they have a outdoor shopping area called 16th St Mall which is pretty cool. They also have light rail and are in close proximity to a lot of leisure activities. Coors Field is awesome also.

The biggest issue I have with Denver is that they've got a TON of road construction going on, seemingly all the time. It's somewhat tough to navigate as a result.

Ya I've been to the 16th st mall.. it isn't bad but didn't seem like anything spectacular either.

Of course, I know, Coors is in a suburb - the point is it's still one of the main attractions where people go when they visit Denver.

Denver seems like a nice town - excellent if you're a sports fan, down to earth, good weather, excellent outdoor activities all around.

When I think about "cosmopolitan", however, I think of a city that's multi-cultured, diverse and urban. To that extent, Denver didn't seem a whole lot different to me than Indy - and since you're San Francisco, I bet you'd agree with me.

Denver wins. On a scale of 1 to 100, I'd give Denver an 80 and Indianapolis a 2.
