My husband just got a new job around the South Beloit area and I was wondering about the strengths and weaknesses of this area. Any information about school districts, best places to live, things to do with children etc. would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!

South Beloit is nice, being in the middle of rockton and beloit. Both high schools are good, either sobos or hononegah. The area can get a little boring if you're the adventurous type, but a ride down highway 251 and you're in rockford. rock river is awesome for boating, fishing, ect. Definitely a good place to raise kids, though.

People seem to prefer Rockton, Roscoe and especially Cherry Valley in the area, but it would be a bit of a commute up from Cherry Valley. People with any rational means to do so avoid Rockford schools, and I've heard Beloit schools aren't the greatest either.
