You should drive Hwy 2 from Rockford to Dixon sometime, its a nice road, especially when its right next to the Rock River.
Steve-o, love, love, love the pics! Hwy 2 along the Rock River is a beautiful drive with many opportunities for some great shots.

Thanks for sharing!

Default Images of Illinois

I haven't been out lately to take any pics, but here's a winter shot that I took in February 2008. It's a park along the Fox River in St. Charles, IL.

Thanks Steve! Nice shot! Is that looking towards Potawatomie Park? Is that the pedestrian bridge near Salerno's?

You're welcome, Steve-o!

I know the pedestrian bridge that you're referring to; however, this shot was taken at Blackhawk Park, which is actually the south side of South Elgin right off of Rt. 31 (about 3 miles north of St. Charles).

The bridge crosses the Fox River and connects Blackhawk Park to the Tekawitha Woods Forest Preserve (off of Rt. 25).

Great shot, Steven. It's awesome how parks can offer such peace within an urban setting.

Thanks, Josh. You're right, although this park is near a few cities, it was very peaceful there and there was a sense of stillness in the air as I walked through the snow in the park.

GREAT pic! Last time I tried to get deer pics, one of them made a short charge at me (small buck). It unnerved me enough to get the crap out of there. lol

Thanks, Steve-o! Taking pictures of deer is a fun challenge. They could be skittish/territorial.

Funny you should mention being charged by a buck. I was chased by a doe once-I think that I got too close to her fawn-and I ran about 100 yards before she stopped charging!
