I live in Arizona. I have repeatedly asked how 1070 itself will specifically change how law enforcement acts. No one can seem to answer that question. I find it ironic that people are already making claims that it will reduce illegal immigration and reduce crime related to illegals yet can't explain HOW it will accomplish those goals. For those who know little about Arizona, the Sheriff Dept. under Joe Arpaio already and unofficially racially profiles. That has been going on for years. I fail to see how 1070 is going to change that. Furthermore, the police and sheriff around the state don't have the time or resources to stop anyone they suspect of being an illegal and asking for documentation. That is not going to happen. People say it's a step in the right direction but how it is it a "step in the right direction" if we were already doing that? I don't see how law enforcement is going to change or be practiced differently as a result of this law because we are already doing what it says.

I don't live in Arizona. I did view a police recorded "stop". A man was pulled over for a driving violation, (even I knew that) and was asked for his Drivers License. The FIRST thing out of that man's mouth was "This is racial profiling". He said he was going to sue the state. The cop said, go ahead, here's my badge number and name. He became irate and the cop was almost bursting into tears from the ridiculous humor of the matter. I think the mentality there is so hyper paranoid due to all of the illegal aliens hiding (not really) there and now AZ has the ability to directly confront them perpetuating another slanderous attack of those who want illegal aliens to be left alone in that state.. Well, America wants them gone.

Excellent post getout

If your not doing anything illegal you really don't have
anything to worry about

ILLEGAL Aliens, aka: COMMON CRIMINALS have made the choice to break OUR law !

It's so simple once they are in the system they will be
tracked by ICE.
