That's exactly where we could use a reform. We don't need an amnesty to make it easier for workers to apply for a work visa.

Arizona needed enforcement, not reform. Under current (until last week) law, Arizona couldn't enforce our Federal laws. So they duplicated them in-state, to give their police the authority to enforce them. They reformed nothing. They just began enforcing the laws that were already there.

Plus, we have tried the fence. It cost anywhere between 1-4 million dollars per mile. Its a waste of money that we currently don't have.
Didn't even read the OP, did we? Particularly the third paragraph from the end. Your complaint has already been covered.

Amnesty is what that comprehensive word applies to. You never hear a Dem politician talk about immigration reform without the comprehensive word preceding the other two words.

We need to try a little enforcement of the immigration law that was passed in 1986 and never enforced. Enforcement would do a whole lot toward the influx of illegals. Also, we need to deport every illegal we find.

I disagree with you sir. The last word you'll hear out of a democratic politician's mouth is the word amnesty. It is the kiss of death, politically.

On the other hand, the OP makes a case for "Enforcing the laws already on the books". This is a right wing euphamistic term for "Deport every stinking 15 million illegal Mexicans back to their country of origin." A totally unrealistic approach but one the right wing neo-cons would love to do and really is at the heart of their agenda. Well.......good luck with that. Never gonna happen weather repubs or dems are in power.

So true, and why the liberal disinformation squad has changed it to "path to citizenship"

The rest of your post is bunk.

You needed to read my whole post to reply to it. I said that Dems never talk about that subject without comprehensive preceding immigration reform. To make it easier to understand they say this: comprehensive immigration reform not just immigration reform. Also, none of them push for enforcement of what we have so it is obvious they want amnesty hoping they can get it in time for this fall's election.

Why do you think they want to talk about comprehensive immigration reform before they talk about jobs and the economy? Votes votes votes.

You are entitled to your opinions and I'm entitled to mine. Thank you for the endoresment. Just curious, where do you sit on the issue? Path to citizenship, or enforce the laws on the books or possibly, dare I hope, somewhere in between?

Ah! I understand now. You are actually drawing your own conclusion based on what you see as obvious. Thanks for clarifying that.
