(AP) Roughly 150 children are suing President Barack Obama to halt the deportations of their parents until Congress overhauls U.S. immigration laws.

The children are U.S. citizens and say their constitutional rights are being violated because they, too, probably will have to leave the country if their parents are forced out.

The group is gathering Wednesday in Miami to talk about the case. They originally brought their lawsuit against the Bush administration. It was refiled in January in Miami.

The children's attorneys say the parents came to the United States before 1996 immigration changes made it more difficult for them to become legal residents. They had expected to be allowed to stay.
Kids Sue Obama Over Parents' Deportations - CBS News

Ah, so, if they can't blame their parents for intentionally committing a crime(s) on their own free wills then it only seems reasonable to blame the government for following the laws, right?

If they want to sue anyone they should sue their shortsighted parents for putting them in this position. Let them file their lawsuit, all it will do is make people love them even more.

They expected to be allowed to stay? Well, that says it all right there. We should stop all proceedings and allow them to go home to their families because they "expected" to be allowed to stay. Man, this whole situation gets more and more ridiculous every day. We are being completely ignored by our representatives and to top it all off, illegals continue to be given new ways to use our system against us. This should not even be a possible issue, but it is because our government continues to allow these types of shennanigans. And the bleeding hearts love these types of stories, especially the ones who never even have to deal with the illegal hordes. There should be no delay, those people should be across our southern border by noon tomorrow. Followed swiftly by their anchor children.

Also, I thought the way it worked was anchor babies are citizens and they seek to protect their parents. But in the exerpt, they claim they want them to stay because if they leave they might lose their citizenship too. This makes no sense because the children are the tool of citizenship here, not the parents. The kids would obviously remain citizens, because actually their parents had nothing to do with their citizenship. Am I wrong? If not, this is nothing more than an engineered propaganda campaign aimed at gaining public sympathy for another group of criminal immigrants.

PS. How can their constitutional rights be threatened here unless they are not really citizens. Once you are a citizen here, that's it. Just because your mom is deported doesn't mean you will be. This lawsuit is a joke.

And said Anchors will only make more enemies by filing such an asinine lawsuit.

Agreed.. This is BS and hopefully some ethnocentric judge doesn't actually rule in favor of these folks..

This is like if my parents were to go to jail for breaking into someone's house and then I sue the county that locks them up because they should be allowed to stay home and use the things that they had stolen from the victim's home.. Seriously! WTF?

I wonder which pro-illegal special interest group is behind this joke. The parents knew they were violating our laws; and it’s too bad if they are separated from their children through deportation. Other criminals are also separated from their children when they are incarcerated. Boo-friggity-hoo. They are free to take their children with them when they leave. I fail to see the problem.

And in other news - The two million children who have a parent in prison are suing the US government. Apparently, when a parent goes to prison the child will most likely end up living in poverty, quite possibly foster care, their grades go down, their stress levels go up and they will most likely become alienated with their parent.

Sounds ridiculous when put that way doesn't it? Yet, what are the differences between the entitled anchors and their counterparts who have a criminal as a parent. Which really is unfair considering that they all have criminals as parents. And yes, the anchors will argue that their parents weren't hurting anyone, and they were merely trying to help their families. Of course the relatives of drug dealers, burglars, arsonists, and even murderers will say the same.

Their cause is rooted in emotional fraud and somewhere down the line they have been convinced that they are above the law. Natural born citizens or not, this is hardly the kind of mindset this country needs more of.
