WASHINGTON — The Supreme Court will decide whether an Albanian immigrant who overslept and missed his asylum hearing can be deported.
The court on Monday agreed to hear an appeal by Agron Kucana, who came to the United States in 1995 as a nonimmigrant visitor.

I say deport him. There are enough responsible people who want to come here legally. If you are not responsible enough to wake up on time then you should suffer the consequences. It is not like he was in a car accident or in the hospital.
It seems to me that if you truly needed asylum over fear of persecution, you would make sure you got to your hearing and not over sleep. If your home country was that bad that you feared for your life, would you oversleep and not attend the hearing that decided if you get to stay or go? This makes me question if this was a legitimate request for asylum.
I know as a legal American, if I overslept and missed an important court hearing of any kind, I would have to suffer the consequences.
