PHOENIX--Critics of Sheriff Joe "Tent City" Arpaio have been celebrating since the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) opened an investigation last week into alleged civil rights violations by the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office (MCSO). Not so fast though -- the revelry is premature. Neither Arpaio nor his officers will be prosecuted, punished, or sanctioned.

If nonsystemic violations are found, nothing will happen. In fact, if systemic violations are found, the MCSO will be rewarded with more resources. That's right folks. The letter from the DOJ spells all of this out in plain language. Even Arpaio, whose office is the subject of the investigation, described the letter from the DOJ as "a nice, friendly letter" that he believes will have "a positive outcome."

Dawn Teo: Sheriff Joe Arpaio Will Not Be Prosecuted For Racial Profiling Or Discrimination

Little by little common sense is making a comeback in America. . .

Go Sheriff Joe

I hate when cops profile.
They only care about yuppies moving in and treat the old neighborhood people like criminals.

Some of Joe's method might be a little heavy-handed but I have yet to see any convincing proof from the anti-joe side on how his methods are unconstitutional or violate civil rights. Making illegal aliens criminals walk in pink underwear does not violate their civil rights.

I have been at the receiving end of profiling by 'the Man' when I was younger-----------looking like a Hippie @ age 20 in the 1970's was asking for trouble.

I was offended at the time; hindsight being 20/20; I now understand why LE did what they did------------too many 'freaks' were indeed bad apples vs. 'straight' looking Americans as a group percentage wise.

If you knew the 90% of the crimes were committed by 10% of a particular population, would you spend the time and resources detaining grand mothers?
