The federal government deported nearly 73,000 illegal immigrants from Arizona in the past fiscal year, a record number that immigration officials said resulted largely from state and local authorities being allowed to enforce immigration laws.
Sure, the deportation number is high...question is what number are returning into a revolving cycle. Unless those deported are identified and incarcerated upon return...we are spinning in our tracks and wasteing time and resources with no progress in sight. Steve

In some of the previous posts here: ICE has been reporting a dramatic drop in illegals crossing the border based on arrests.
Too; I have seen the decline of illegals here in Arizona first hand.
The economy is making it a lot more unsavory to cross.
