The Associated Press: Spain: Street violence after immigrant's death (broken link)

Quote:
African immigrants clashed with Spanish police in a second night of violence triggered by the killing of a Senegalese man in an apparent drug dispute, the Interior Ministry said Monday.

Four demonstrators were arrested and a Civil Guard officer was injured, it said.

Africans living in a shantytown near Roquetas del Mar, a seaside town in Almeria province on the Mediterranean, threw rocks at an ambulance on a routine call Sunday night, then attacked police who came to restore order, a ministry official in the provincial capital Almeria said.

Thanks for pointing that out.

I take it this is what we have to look forward to? After all, spain has a large population of illegal immigrants who have no notion of assimiliating into Spanish society. Assimiliating is a good thing, and at least the US is helpful in that regard.

And the screamin' irony is that Hispanic Spain is extremely upset about illegals-------------and, rightly so.

It seems that most of the pro illegal crowd avert their collective eyes at the above.

Shanty towns in a first world country. Openly attacking the police. We're next America. This needs to stop, these countries where poor as hell in the 1960's and the West did not have trouble with hordes of illegal immigrants coming in. This tells me that they are being indirectly invited by our greedy business system. I know it is hard for us to turn on our own business elites, but it's that or watch to future of western civilization crumble and choke on it's own greedy tenacity. Spain btw, is not "hispanic". It is in Europe and would be considered white (caucasian) non-hispanic. Go figure. Hispanics are all the latin countries in our own hemisphere which are overwhelmingly populated by racially mixed populations and therefore separated from classic "caucasians" as a group, although there are about 130 million caucasians in Latin America out of approximately 450 million people.

Persons of Hispanic or Latino origin, percent, 2000 (http://quickfacts.census.gov/qfd/meta/long_68188.htm - broken link)

Quote:
Hispanics or Latinos are those people who classified themselves in one of the specific Spanish, Hispanic, or Latino categories listed on the Census 2000 questionnaire -"Mexican, Mexican Am., Chicano," "Puerto Rican", or "Cuban" -as well as those who indicate that they are "other Spanish/Hispanic/Latino." Persons who indicated that they are "other Spanish/Hispanic/Latino" include those whose origins are from Spain, the Spanish-speaking countries of Central or South America, the Dominican Republic or people identifying themselves generally as Spanish, Spanish-American, Hispanic, Hispano, Latino, and so on.
Accordiong to the above link/quote: Spaniards are indeed 'Hispanic'.
