Actually, Achury is right on this one. Federal law mandates that hospitals have to treat illegals who present at the ER, wh/ has bankrupted several hospitals and put many more into severe financial distress.
Also, ER personnel are not to notify anyone about the possible illegal status of people who present themselves to ER.
It sucks. Just think what a burden this has meant for hospitals - as well as hospital personnel.
My son went to the ER this past Christmas. He was out of network and so I had to ante up over $900. I started getting calls w/in two weeks - where's the money? Yet, an illegal can walk in and his mommy ain't getting a bill. At all.
Okay. Now take your position and apply it to other law breakers who go to the hospital--such as drunk drivers who cause automobile accidents and put everyone involved in the hospital, including himself. Should the drunk driver be "safe" at the hospital and get off scott free, as you're recommending?
The police officer escorts his drunk rear into the ER, they draw blood before doing any other medical treatment for evidence, give him the minimum medical treatment and then the police officer hauls him off to jail. And the drunk's insurance is billed and he pays his copay. He broke the law, just as the illegal immigrant is doing. Why should illegal immigrants be any different--other than they don't pay for their medical treatment? Get more police presence at those hospitals. Walk the talk troll.

LOL I am quite sure every criminal shot in the act of commiting a crime agrees with you 100%. Yo man I am shot, I need a doctor. This is a hospital you shouldn't be allowed to call the police. This way after you treat me I can escape prosicution for my crimes. Beautiful.... I love it.
How about The hospitals which in fact receive federal dollars are obligated to report crimes. Using a false ssn to evade payment of services? Using a false or stolen ID? Oh yes I would say these are crimes that should be reported. News flash the illegal made the choice to enter illegally.. Illegally means to do so is a crime. A crime that every tax paying citizen is paying for as I type this. It should result in a permanant ban from ever re-entering this country.
All these pro-illegals need to do is start paying the hospital bills and things would be different. If they really care, let them put their money where their mouths are. No one is stopping them from paying the bills and then their opinions might count for something. As it is, who cares what they think, they aren't contributing a thing.

Quite true! You have to realize that we have a bunch in this forum who have sympathy for the illegals and other law breakers but not for the American citizens.
