"Millions of Americans are looking for work. The federal government is borrowing 43 cents on every dollar it spends. And the economy is dragging along the bottom. Incredibly, and contrary to common sense, some argue that granting amnesty to millions of illegal immigrants will solve all our problems and create jobs, increase revenues and boost the economy. But their claims are built on a foundation of sand".
Great post. Obama has done nothinh for americans on jobs. Amnesty will only worsen the jobs situation. I read one president ordered the deportation of illegals during a recession. They should do the same now and stop all new work visas.
Amnesty would just mean the employers of illegals would have to start over and bring in millions more illegals to replace the newly amnestied who would now be eligible to take American jobs and/or more government handouts.
Why work a $5 an hour job or a strictly seasonal job when you're now able to access ALL the government programs that provide a higher standard of living than those dirt wage jobs provided.
Some argue that we absolutely need illegals to do the slave-like jobs that Americans shouldn't have to do. In that case there is no reason at all to make illegals legal. Leave them as they are.

They sure wouldn't keep doing their existing job that's for sure.

Thank you! No one with an ounce of sense would believe illegals would choose to continue to work the same “dirty” jobs after legalization. Why should they? Mind you, some illegals also have college degrees.
Amnesty at this point in the United States makes no sense at all. It is obvious that such a move is based off of humanitarian or political-show instead of smart planning and an economic move for the United States. I don't think emotional politics is what we can afford right now.
Obama's only way to have a chance to get re-elected is to grant amnesty. That is the only way.
Sad attempt at a power grab is coming and Joe America will stand up and not allow it.
Funny thing is that amnesty has always popped up throughout the decades and conveniently is placed as a possible political move. No doubt, there have been immigration messes throughout our history in which talks of amnesty are naturally going to occur. However, the actual consideration of amnesty just to rid us of an illegal immigration problem is getting old.
