I just got home from a week visiting the Wendell area. I noticed a few billboards along the highway, about wind power being a scam. I asked my relatives why the negative billboards, but no one could answer.

Is Idaho against windmills? I saw a lot of them on the western horizon in the evenings (toward the town of Hagerman), so maybe just Wendell is against them???

Methinks the Energy Integrity Project is a shill for the coal industry. JMO.

We have had wind farms all over New York State for years now, and absolutely none of the hysterical predictions from the opponents of them have come to pass. Even the supposed "pollution" of bucolic rural vistas was bunk. Those rows of big wind mills along the tops of ridges in Wyoming County, NY are visually stunning, especially against sunrises/sunsets or storm clouds.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with diversifying power sources except when you're a coal mining company seeing demand for your product decline. With my cynical view of things, I wouldn't be surprised to someday find that at least some, perhaps quite a bit, of the opposition to horizontal fracking in shale gas drilling, particularly in the East, is encouraged/funded by coal interests. Natural gas being used to fuel electrical generating plants that are now coal-fired would eventually kill the coal industry.

NV could stand easily support wind mills as well, but we have very very few.
