Kia sold 5,985 new Souls last month, compared to 10,540 for the same month last year, and year-to-date sales are down about 250 cars over last year (77,627 vs 77,888). I wonder if car sales are down in general this year, or do people just not care for the 2020 model?
I have a 2020 Soul and love it, including the front styling, but I have to admit that the styling of the back end is not that great. I’m not a big fan of the tail light that encircles the back window.

I will admit when I was buying that Soul I was admiring the Telluride. My previous vehicle was Volks Tiguan, if I was looking to replace that I would have strongly considered. Truth is I didn't need anything of that size.
I *was* interested in getting a Soul as a second car, but now the Venue seems a better bet. I wonder how many other potential Soul customers are awaiting the Venue. H/K cannibalizing itself.
But also you used to be able to get a base Soul brand new around $12-13k...and that was a straight up advertised no haggle price.
Now the lowest price Soul at my closest dealer is advertised at $15.5k for a 2020 manual LX. So a significant price bump as well.
I like the rear styling of the 2020 Soul, its much better than the 1970s telephone shaped taillights of the previous Soul. The front, not so much.
Price has been ramping up along with everything else. At Christmas 2016 a local dealer had a sale on leftover 2015 Souls. Base autos were 15500, base stick was 14K. Last summer base auto 2018 was just under 17K.

Those are two different market audiences. Anyone looking at a Soul isn’t really in the market for a Telluride
We’re looking at both Kia and the Hyundai versions of the a Telluride
