The Edmunds and Kelly Blue Book websites would be a much better source than strangers on an internet forum. I assume you're just too lazy to read all that information.
The 1.6 and 6 speed automatic is the same powertrain used in the Soul, Accent, and Veloster. It’s pretty reliable in day to day operation, but I wouldn’t expect it to last over 200k miles like a Toyota.
For 2020 the Rio will get an all new CVT transmission, so it’s anyone’s guess how reliable that’ll be.

I prefer a non GDI engine. Less worry about gunk buildup, to me GDI motors are not worth it. Just search all that has gone wrong with them and that's is what Kia uses in the 19 Rio. Just stay with regular boring motors.

Generally, the piston rings and rod bearings will be worn out in a Hyundai engine before there’s ever any issues with the GDI.

the base model soul has the 1.6, the more popular + and ! have 2.0 engines and are excellent... I own 2 Souls, no problems
the Veloster (including the base) are 2.0 engines. The turbo has the 1.6. I owned a 2012 Veloster, it was a nice car.
so no, they aren't the same powertrain...
compare apples to apples.., not apples to peaches.

Most Soul(s) is see are the base with the 1.6 (Gamma) and 6 speed automatic, so YES, they are the same. And the Veloster only recently started using the 2.0, the last gen had the same 1.6 that’s in the Rio.
As for the (Nu) engine, the 1.8 version had a lot of issues with the cylinder liners and the oil control rings getting coked up, so hopefully the 2.0 is better.
I have a 2014 Kia Soul with the base 1.6 GDI and automatic. I had to do some spirited highway driving today to get to a doctor's appointment some 40 miles away. I had it up to 75MPH, mostly about 65MPH. Some will say that's slow but for the car it was not over taxing it. No excess noise or vibration, just smooth steady power and shifting.
From launch at red lights or on ramps you do hear a whine and it doesn't leap to accelerate. Its a trade off.
But at almost 5 years and 35,000 miles, its been 100% trouble free( entire car) and completely reliable. I change the oil as suggested and its almost never needed to be topped off. So the engine and trans seem to be well engineered and built.
A welcome plus is that engine is quick to warm up on cold winter days. I like getting heat within a few minutes of driving. Its just a great little boxy people mover.
