I actually thought the Journey was an older mini van (going by it's appearance) for the longest time.

It is bigger than the Tahoe with better MPG because it is based on a car platform as well as being FWD rather than RWD

BTW the Sorento is only slight smaller that a Pilot or a Highlander

It was a cross between a minivan and the old Chrysler Pacifica.

I’m just glad they’re using the reliable 3.3 V6 instead of a little turbo four banger.
Is the turbo 4 having issues? I know a while back there was some issue with one of the engines but I can’t renember which one. We’re looking at eventually buying a suv and KiaSorento is pretty high on our list

Hyundai/Kia 4cyl engines aren’t known to be great, but their V6’s have been pretty decent. Besides, a V6 is much smoother and quieter anyways.

Looks like an attempt to compete with the Honda Pilot, whose sales are up nearly 50% in 2018 versus 2017. The question more likely should be why a Kia, given the massive equity dump after just a couple of years?

Here's a link with better photos: https://www.motortrend.com/news/kia-...hat-to-expect/

I actually really like the styling of their current large SUV, the Kia Sorento. I'm not clear if the Telluride would be an addition or replacement, but I assume 'addition'.

I'm not a fan of any of the boxy designs either. Flex wasn't bad actually, but the Kia Soul, Honda Element, etc did nothing for me. The Volvo's are not as boxy, and I actually like them.

I drove two different Kia Souls and didn't get a third one because of the boxy look which I started disliking more and more. That and every 5th car on the road in my area were Kia Soul's. It was like going to the prom and 5 other girls were wearing the same dress.
