I drove two different Kia Souls and didn't get a third one because of the boxy look which I started disliking more and more. That and every 5th car on the road in my area were Kia Soul's. It was like going to the prom and 5 other girls were wearing the same dress.
My wife rented a Soul once. While she wasn't a fan of the exterior design, she actually loved the interior and the way it drove. People do like driving them. And while I'm not a fan, I do appreciate a few differently-designed vehicles on the road - not a fan of every-sedan-looks-the-same. So good for Kia.
I actually really like the styling of their current large SUV, the Kia Sorento. I'm not clear if the Telluride would be an addition or replacement, but I assume 'addition'.
I'm not a fan of any of the boxy designs either. Flex wasn't bad actually, but the Kia Soul, Honda Element, etc did nothing for me. The Volvo's are not as boxy, and I actually like them.
Hyundai/Kia 4cyl engines aren’t known to be great, but their V6’s have been pretty decent. Besides, a V6 is much smoother and quieter anyways.
That’s pretty weird because I have a Optima with 130,000 miles that I daily drive about 120 miles 5 days a week. It’s a 4 cyl and I had no issues at all with the engine or transmission.
