42k mile in a year is NOT unusual. That is about the time that MOST rental cars dispose of their vehicles.
Currently, Hertz has about 1306 2017 Hyundai Sonatas within 1000 miles of Phoenix for sale. Of those, 565 have between 35-45k miles.

Dealers often purchase used rental cars to fill up their used car lots. They know that generally the rental car places maintain their vehicles and have an attractive options package. They send their buyers to the rental car companies or send them to the Mannheim auction and buy cars by the dozen.
It would be UNCOMMON that a 2017 Hyundai Sonata would be coming out of a corporate fleet as MOST fleets keep their vehicles for 36 months and their contract with the OEM usually prohibits them from flipping a car out of the fleet within one year.
