My Sonata has 102k miles on it now. How many miles do you consider high and you wouldn't think it's a reliable car anymore. I am going to ALbany NY from Charleston SC next month for turkey day. I never had a car this long. When do you think that the car is high mileage and wouldn't take it on a long distance drive?

If you've taken good care of this car...with routine maintenance, there's no reason to believe you can't get 150,000-200,000 miles out of it without major problems.

I gave my 2004 Mazda 6 to my son with about 125,000 miles on it and he proceeded to drive it 4000 miles to Ketchikan, Alaska. No trouble at all. The car has about 134,000 miles right now and there have not many unscheduled maintenance problems over 11 years the car has been in the family.

The point is that generally cars can last a lot longer today than 30-40 years ago....but you've still have to take care of them.

Thanks for the info. Like I said before I just never had a car that was over 3 or 4 years old before. I use to trade them in before the warranty expired.

Yes I do keep up with all the maintenance on it. So I really shouldn't have any problems for a while then.

Have a great Sunday!
