I thought the shape was cool then they got all sharp and angled. I see a few for sale on websites. Was the last year 2009?

From what I understand the Accents have been pretty much bulletproof reliable transportation for some time even though its not the most glamorous car to drive. I owned a 2002 as my first car in high school, beat the hell out of it and sold it to a friend who used it has his first car and had it over 150k miles without any problems. Over the years I've run across a few people who owned an Accent in the 2000's and they had similar experiences.

2010 I believe. The interior developed these odd white specks on the door as if whatever dye they put on was wearing off. If you drive it nice then perhaps it is fine I certainly did not drag race mine, it was a manual, and I had to quick shift a couple of times, but nothing like drag racing, and the transmission gasket went out within 5k miles. Maybe just a lemon transmission. I would not recommend those cars, unless you can get the transferable warranty on it still.

I have a 2012 Accent with the Gas Direct Injected engine. Its got good power BUT around 45k miles the motor knocks unless you put in super unleaded. Many Accent owners on the forums have this problem also. I prefer the older Accents with the bubble interior vs sharp shaped ones for better room.

And lastly I will never buy a GDI motor again.
