I guess you are right. The 4-cyl non-turbo version DOES get good gas mileage. I read a review that said the seats were comfortable. I rented an Outback for a day and HATED it. I wonder if the Forester is better than the Outback?

Also the seats in the Outback hurt my back, so I guess that turned me off to all Subarus.

But maybe I need to check out Forester...

My aunt just got a brand new one. She loves it. It's able to carry almost anything. I went on a road trip with her from Los Angeles to Solvang (a small town a few miles north of Santa Barbara, CA) and the seats were very comfortable. I'm not sure what the MPG is though. The audio system is pretty good. It came with XM Satellite Radio for a month and she loved it so she kept it. It has some pretty good punch to go up hills and pass on an LA freeway.

It's a great car, probably one of the best for the money. Consumer Reports constantly rates it in the top 5 in its class. The only car that usually beats it is the Toyota RAV-4.

The Rav4 is a great car, great on gas. But not as comfortable.
