Has it ever burned out a replacement bulb? Or only the originals? Automotive bulbs vary widely in quality. But if you're using high quality replacements and it still burns them out, then there is something systemic.

I agree with jtur88.......Korean bulbs are lousy. Once replaced with a decent brand, they ought to last unless you've got some sort of problem. But I'd bet it's just those factory installed cheapos that are the problem.

oh yeah ... i have replaced the replacements on several occasions.... i have an email into Hyundai, but don't really expect a lot out of that.... it is WAY out of warranty.... but am holding out slim hope that it is something systemic that they are aware of and would be willing to repair......

Did you try googling /hyundai burn bulb/? One Hyundai forum had several suggestions that you need to have your voltage regulator checked.

I've got an '04 Hyundai Santa Fe and the OEM bulbs dropped like flies. For replacements I use Sylvania bulbs and always get the long-life bulbs which are the ones with the silver bases. Don't use the copper-base bulbs as they will eventually corrode the contacts.

I know someone with a Kia van that is like 3-4 years old. They just told me 3 of the 4 headlight lamps went out. I suspect it's because they are linked in such a way that an over-current is not well protected on other circuits, but that's just my guess.

My grandparents have an 09 Sonata and afaik, they have not had any blown bulb issues, yet.

I know however that my aunt purchased a 1995 Mercury Villager (Nissan Quest) and there were always bulbs blowing out on it. Taillights, grill lights (had those lights all across the grill), dash lights, etc.
