Per WPC (NOAA) 8pCDT: 2 to 4 inch per hour rainfall rates could accompany rainbands as they move ashore tonight.

Looks like air recon has been finding pressure leveled off again (= storm strength overall steady). And center has been moving more Northward. 930pCDT/1030pEDT

Made landfall near Matagorda, TX 80mph(130km/h).
As of 6aCDT/7aEDT Mon 8July: Winds 80mph(130km/h), moving N 12mph(19km/h), pressure 979mb.

Not much on the SW side of storm as compared to the N thru E side where more widespread and higher winds of the storm located. Very heavy rainfall coming in off the Gulf across Freeport to Galveston and up through Houston/Cypress/Katy/Sealy region.

Matagorda Bay entrance: was +3.9ft, now +.09ft pushing out.

Matagorda City: was +4ft, now +3ft
Sargent: +2.5ft
Freeport Harbor +2.5ft
San Luis Pass: +3.75ft
Galveston Pier21: +3.3ft
Galveston Railroad Bridge: +3.8ft
Galveston Bay entrance: +3.25ft
Eagle Point Galveston Bay: +4.8ft
Rollover Pass: was +2ft, now near normal
TX/LA border: +2.85ft




Wind gust:
Palacios: 81mph
Matagorda Bay: 89mph
Matagorda City: 86mph
TX Gulf Coast regional airport between Freeport and Angleton): 85mph

Center near Sugar Land / WSW of Houston(should be seeing their peak winds, heaviest rains will start pushing out soon).

Additional obs last few hrs:

Galveston Bay entrance: 73mph sustained, gust 82mph
Houston KHOU airport: 58mph sustained, gust 84mph
Morgans Point 66mph sustained, gust 77mph
