I hate to see any place go out of business, but even though this was the first Mexican place I ever ate at, it's been many years since I've been there. There are just so many options in Huntsville if you are in the mood for Mexican food.

This is another one that I'm surprised lasted as long as it did. I liked the food, but the establishment, the chairs, and the service - meh. The older Mr.Davis's discriminatory rant on FB earlier this year didn't do the place any favors either.

That piqued my interest, but I can't find our El Palacio on Facebook anymore. Did they pull the page down?

My wife grew up as an avid fan of their nachos, but out of the 3-4 times I've eaten there I was never impressed. The food was always swimming in grease and the place was dark and felt dirty. Definitely better choices around, but sad that the owner couldn't keep it going.

Yesterday a friend of mine wanted who was new to Huntsville wanted to find a Mexican buffet for lunch. I had never eaten at El Palacio but I clearly remember the Lunch Buffet on their sign. I stopped by El Palacio at 1:30 to try out the lunch buffet. Unfortunately I was told that the sign was wrong. They no longer had a buffet. We ended up eating somewhere else. I wonder how much other business they lost because of the misinformation on their sign?

My boss would go there now and then. We were discussing the closure, and he said he went in a few weeks ago and the buffer was shut down.

So he turned around and left.
