Where is a good place to see Bluebonnets when they bloom?
This is my 3rd spring now living in Texas, last couple years, I went either too early, then too late and never the right place.
This year, I want to be ready!

thank you!

Go to Brenham. You can see them in the pastures along 290. You can find a nice place to stay overnight at numerous Bed and Breakfast Inns and then drive around at your leisure because they bloom all over the area around Brenham. Usually the Houston chronicle has a page online where people post bluebonnet sightings so you know beforehand.

yup 290 towards Brenham. Just look for all the cars pulled to the side of the road and you'll know you've found a good (if not crowded) spot.

We missed the peak, so no good pictures here. We stayed in Cat Spring last weekend and drove to the south of Brenham and back on Saturday. Still lots of Bluebonnets along the highway, but we were told it was like bluebonnet carpeting 2 weeks ago. The country roads leading out of Cat Spring were loaded with yellow, orange, red, and purple flowers though. That alone was worth the trip.

We went Easter weekend and it was too early. Did find a few and one field on the way home that EVERYBODY and their mother had also found.
