My husband does banking at Woodforest here in North Carolina inside Walmart.

Since the headquarters are located in Houston. I am concern that this bank is not good place to put our money in. my husbands likes the high interest rates they offer that our local banks do not. any feedback on how Woodforest bank really is.

thanks.

I don't personally bank there - but they have been here for awhile. I am hearing more and more that we should pull our money out of the big banks and bank locally. I am thinking about doing that, even though I have banked at Wells Fargo forever (Wells Fargo bought my bank some time ago). Woodforest would be as good as any. They are all covered by FDIC, so your money is as safe as anywhere.

Houston is a very stable market, and as stable of a place for businesses as any other city. The Enron thing aside, why are you worried about banking with a Houston based company?
