I just found out that there's a life time at the City Centre. That's pretty awesome, since it's not too far from Midtown. However, they don't have that much information about it online. I guess it's open already? Has anybody been there? I looked at the club amenities online ,and it looks like it's just like the other life time fitness clubs. I thought it might be smaller and inside. Perhaps it is inside, but it got the same club amenities then. Any input is appreciated.

Its really not that good I go to the one at hcampions and lake houston. Its mostly machines and no one except me does deadlift. Its mostly people that either do 1/2 benchpress or curls in squat racks. And the people that go there have a lot of credit so they really don't like it if someone else can do more than them. They will watch you put disks on a bar and if its more than they can do they start yelling, belching, passing gas, and slamming stuff around.

It's the same as the Champions, but they call it Life Time Athletic and only offer the most expensive membership at thsat location. That really pissed me off when I heard that. I was already looking forward to this. They want 80 bucks, the other membership is 50 Dollars a month. There's also no difference between Champions and City Centre. I guess they figured they can pull that off in this area. Looks like a lot of folks with $$ live there.

That's how the Lifetime in Cinco Ranch is. This one time, one cop walked by us and asked if "we could handle what we were putting up", sarcastically (me and one of my friends). The basketball courts in Lifetime is the same way. These little boys out here think they're so raw at it...they should be in the NBA then. That's how the fights happen.

Ya'll get into fistfights? Don't take it lying down, Chad. I guess I just behave. I never had any problems at the local gyms in Houston.

I'm confused. City Centre at I-10 and the Tollway? If so, how is that "not too far" from Midtown?

I live near Rice and workout at the Downtown Y. And that's as far as I will travel.

I was wondering that as well. I thought City Centre is near I-10 and BW8, thats not close to Midtown.

It is a very nice gym...the nicest gym I have ever been a member of. (I have been working out at nice gyms in Houston for over 25 years). The membership is expensive but if you are a workout pro like myself then it is well worth it. It is very clean and offers many different things for whatever type of workout you are into! I love it! Go and take a tour of it...I think you will be very impressed with it...except for the cost!

It is "not too far" from Midtown. The other ones are in SL, Cinco Ranch, Willowbrook and in Humble.

I've been a member before ( not at this location ) You're going to there? I would be ok with their "gold membership" , which is about 50 bucks a month. Their "onyx membership" has no additional benefits other than more discount at som e stores I don't use anyway, and you have 8 VIP's per year ( can take someone with you who dosen't have a membership there for each VIP card). But that's 30 bucks a month more. If I had any REAL benefits, I would be ok with it. The onyx membership is just a total rip off, imo.
I guess I'll do it anyway. I'll have to stop by and see. Too bad there's no other nice gym close to me

I've been a member of Lifetime Fitness at CityCentre for about 6 months now and my opinion is that the club is not for everyone. The membership is high, but you never have to wait for a cardio machine, rarely have to wait for a strength machine, and only have to wait for freeweights during high traffic times. The lockers are in great shape and everything is kept clean. They offer an indoor family pool, an indoor lap pool, and an outdoor leisure pool. The second floor is full of machines and the third floor houses a daycare, a spin studio, a few classrooms, racquetball courts, basketball courts, and an indoor soccer field. There is also a 3 story rock wall that the whole family can enjoy. But wait, there's more! There is also a Cafe on site and a Spa where you can get facials, haircuts, perms, and the like.

I thought about cancelling my membership because I sometimes feel bad for sweating in such a nice gym. I've seen them offer day passes and all you have to do is go on a short tour with them.

You could always look into The Houstonian as well. I've been told that it is nicer than Lifetime at CityCentre.
