Hello,

How is the Rice Military area (or the localities in the vicinity of Memorial Park inside the loop)? We have a 1 year old kid and looking for park/walking with kid kind of area (but also some socializing, hopefully). We are looking for a house in the range of $325K-$350K and newish (5-10 years old). Is the area safe? And are the schools (elementary) good in the area? I am assuming that commute to the Galleria area should be good.

Will appreciate any input....

Parichay

That area is nice, but you might also want to check west of the loop. There's a lot of homes in between Westheimer and Memorial, pretty much all the way to Highway 6. The Galleria is on Westheimer so you could use that road to drive to work.

Parichay, the rice military area would be perfect for you and your family. One of my favorite areas in Houston. Close to just about everything and pretty walkable. Very nice established area with lots of mature trees and some new construction. I HIGHLY recommend this area. Top of the list imo.

Default Flooding and Rice Military

I heard that there may be possibility of flooding (at least in the access roads) around Rice Military. Is that true?
