I was cracking up. They probably had those kids trick or treating til midnight... still can't figure out why anyone would want that much candy.
LOL...I thought you were going to say you didn't have any kids at your house!
They started at 7 ish...funny...I actually didn't see ( or at least, I don't think I saw any) kids from our immeadiate neighborhood! But we had sometimes 10+ kids at once! Towards the end, we had a few teens, no costumes who were pretty rude...It was about then, we were out of candy anyway and we shut down the lights. Still had 2 or 3 who rang the bell....just yelled through the door we were out.
Funny about the candy...had a Dad with 2 little ones...like 3 and 4 holding their little pumpkins...Dad then shoves a pillow case under my nose and says Dad needs his candy fix too!

I'm glad to the report, the Heights represented well. Ther were ghouls and goblins roaming the streets at will. I had many more Kids this year than the last two years combined. I set up a little Spook House in my garage, with black lights and stuff. big fun was had by all.

That's pretty sad. I had two ladies, probably in their 40s, each holding a pumpkin. One child, probably about 2 or 3 was cowering behind them and they informed me that the other child was too scared to come to the door. Then they held out their pumpkins for me to deposit the candy.

I also don't like the flatbed trucks full of Kids, that don't live around here. they come in score candy, then load up to hit the next house that looks inviting. I never use to see that. but seem to see it more every year.

Not many in our area either. I think there were more kids trucked in from Fuqua/Southpoint vs the local kids. There are only a few kids in our neighborhood to begin with though, and it has been this way for awhile.

At one point, I had three truck fulls at once. I may rethink my plans for next year. I feel a little exploited, and shouldn't.

So, if an adult with a small child who obviously is too young for trick or treating comes to your door, do you give the adult candy? I would have to say in that situation I may would have told them that there is a Kroger down the road that will have candy on sale for half price at midnight...

I had several Kids that were to small to carry their sacks or jack-o-lanterns, so I did give the candy to the Parent, no problem. I tried to give candy to everybody I could. But costumes got more candy. Non costumes got maybe one piece.

Well...in our case, Dad was dressed as a over-weight, hairy guy ,sporting signs of his dinner on a very well worn, (and smelly) tee-shirt.
