Hello everyone, I have a job offer in Houston but it's a long way away from where I live now, I've been there before and I did like it, my concern is that I'm worried that it might be too much of a family town for a young single adventure seeker, I could be wrong, but I've heard Austin is the place for college aged kids, but I liked Houston, it seemed laid back and the people were friendly, I'm just wondering how a person like me would like it, I'm not a party animal, but I like to kick back, hit some clubs, have a few drinks and meet new people, especially cute girls so could anybody tell me where a 24 yr old single guy could have a blast in Houston? Thanks

There would be plenty for you to do. Just don't move out to some "bedroom community." Move to somewhere inside the loop close to the clubs, like midtown, Montrose, Memorial Heights, etc.

The Rice Military, Montrose, and Downtown areas seem like good choices for you. All within 5-10 minutes of Downtown Houston and the Galleria. Which is where most 20somethings like to be at for clubbing, shopping, and hanging out. Houston is an all around city, for young and old. Austin is definately a "younger" city because of UT, but Houston has a very nice lifestyle for us younger people. Try to stay within the 610 loop or around the galleria area if outside.

Where are you moving from?
