Well, so much for my wedding planning in Galveston as I see the weather for end of March will be in the low 60's. I was hoping to have my reception on a yacht, but I think it will be too cold. There's also no point in having my guests fly in from out of town (as the majority of my guests will be doing) to travel 45 minutes to Galveston, and not even be able to go on the beach.

My friend had a beautiful wedding reception at the Cohen House on the Rice University campus. It was just lovely and a pretty setting too.

If you want to try something different you may want to try "Brazilian". I heard once you get into it you will never go back. I recommend a couple of places in the Houston area. Tradicao Brazilian Steakhouse Southwest is one option, if you are in the Woodlands area, you can go to Guri do Sul, in the Clear Lake area, check out Tradicao II on Bay Area Blvd. All have private rooms ranging from 10ppl to as many as 240ppl. Prices are reasonable because they include good quality food, good service, upscale environment, no room fees and no minimum consumption.
