I was wondering what the consensus is on the best costume shop in Houston. We've been in several of the generic stores that are leased out spaces in empty buildings right before the 31st but what about year-round stores that have high quality, hard to find items? I googled and came up with Frankels. Very mixed reviews on Google for Frankels but, as everyone knows, people only tend to write reviews if they have a bad experience.

Thanks!

I've always had good luck at Frankel's. Extensive selection, helpful staff.

The place that advertises a lot but never has what I need is Party City.

"Paper Boy" I-10 and Studemont. they also have a good" Haunted house" at night, that packs them in.

On the North side of town (suburbs) most people I know use Danny's Trix and Kix on FM 2920. It may be a little late to reserve the best costumes so hurry up.

Southern Importers is good, but Frankels is a lot larger. Their store takes up an entire city block. Supposedly they are the largest costume retailer in the country. I don't think you would have problems with them. I have dealt with them on other business without any problems, (I just recently did a deal with the family on a mod house they bought in my hood earlier this year). They get a lot of repeat business, so I wouldn't let those review places keep me away. It is a pretty impressive set up they have.

Thanks for all the suggestions. We went to Frankels last night and it was awesome. Great selection, not too picked over yet (go soon!) and helpful staff.
