I need a 1 or 2 bedroom apartment in a safe area which is affordable, up to $750.00/mth $850.00/mth within a reasonable commute to 77081. Please comment based on experience. Prefer 77095, 77084 or any others that are reasonably safe within the area. Thank you in advance, I look forward to the move.

Rent revised to $850.00 since this gives a little more to work with and is still within my means

Thirty views and no Houston Love? How about any apartment complex recommendation in the surrounding area within a 30min commute. Please, I will take any feedback that you can give me. If there aren't any let me know please. Thanks

Thanks for clearing things up for me Xodox. I was unclear on how much one would have to pay to lessen their chances of becoming a victim to crime. I am unfamiliar with Houston but will start a job there next month. Looking at the post of some areas frightens me as I am unsure just how much is fact vs exaggeration. I think $850 is reasonable since I pay $600 where I currently reside and feel reasonably safe. Are there reasonably safe areas near Greenway/Kirby? I would like to narrow down my searches and not end up in a jackpot somewhere. Thanks to all.

Not sure what ammenities you want. Try looking east and northeast of your target area. You might find some in the Montrose/Museum District areas if you cruise the streets and look for signs since alot of the small complexes do not advertise (no need to).

Not sure if 850 gets you a nice place. "Nice" to me would probably start around 950+ in that area. Unless you're ok with 600 square feet?
I would try the I-10 zip code you provided. The other one is too far up north ( 290).
