If so, and you can part with it, I would like to purchase a copy. I've already called the Chronicle, they don't have anymore. If you have one, you may PM me.

Regards

Check with the downtown Public Library or contact some of the local colleges to see if they have it available online or have the actual copy. Good Luck!

Default Nothing in the news...

We had a new baby that day... I've managed to get a copy of the newspaper for the other three on their birth days... sadly we were too busy and let it slip and did not get one for the fourth... and FINAL!

Default Thanks...

Thanks. I called the Chronicle again (it was actually my wife who called earlier), and I began to ask the same question, but also mentioned that I was aware of their 30 day limit. My wife said they were very stern, concise on their responses, as expcted.

Anyway, the elderly woman who answered first said I could get it online, I said I needed a copy. She then asked if the front page was good enough, I told her I really wanted the whole paper. She was about to apologize, to hang up I guess, but then I explained that with our previous three, I purchased the paper on their birthdays, and just let this last one slip.

It must have touch a soft spot, she perked up and asked me what date the birth was, boy, or girl. She said her own birthday was the 20th of August, and said she was fond of little girls, and had a grandaughter also. She took my info, and gave me her personal number at the Chronicle and said she was going to see what she could do. She said to tell my wife she was doing this as a favor because our daughter shared a birthdate close to hers, in a joking tone of course.

I don't expect anything, but was glad she is going out of her way to check; I'll probably reward her with a little somthing anyway for the gesture.

Well, what you can do to obtain such paper is go to a library (bigger ones, like the one in downtown, are more likely to keep newspaper for years), and ask for one at the periodical. They will most likely ask for a library card first, so, you might need one or apply for one. Once they give it to you, just take off. They might fine you, just like they'll fine you for not returning a book or something.

I am not recommending it, because it is wrong, I am just saying.

That's a need idea! How do you preserve / store the paper? I saved some newspapers from 9/11 and they are turning yellow. I'm afraid they are not worth saving at this point.
