The one in San Diego had a couple of cafeteria-style Chinese food places but not of the quality or variety that I saw (& tasted) at H-Mart.

Ranch 99 is like sort of like one of the few large East Asian grocer options in San Diego.

That being said, it was a fun experience to drive up to the Mira Mesa environs (geez, I can't remember my San Diego streets anymore) just to go there for some Chinese red bean waffles or mosey on to the Convoy area which has lots of pan-Asian fare on a Sunday afternoon.

There was this one cafe at that Ranch 99 San Diego that served up some duck noodle wontons I liked quite a bit.

But Chinese waffles, filled with red bean or vanilla custard...

Those Chinese waffles can be had here at the Golden Supermarket just behind Sinh Sinh near Bellaire@Beltway8. Yum.
