I have a friend who needs a safe place on the cheap. His take home is $1200/month and he wants to live close to his work at I-10 and Guessner. Suggestions?

At that price range. I really really doubt it. I would recommend for him to rent a room until he can bring home more money. He can rent a room in a nice area for that amount and it will include utilities.

Yeah - that range is usually better for a room or roommate(s) situation..

The problem with an apartment that costs $400-500 a month is that all of your neighbors can also only afford $400-$500 a month. So, you end up with some sketchy people. And the complex won't be kept up as well as more expensive places.

He might be better off looking further west in Katy.
