So I loved Houston when I got here, but it seems like it took a few weeks for me to find what is really wrong in this city. Last week I was in dire need of a slurpee, so I pulled out my phone and "googled" 7-11. When I arrived at my destination I was shocked and mortified to find out that THERE ARE NO 7-11's in HOUSTON!!!!

A week prior to that when I craved a hamburger, I was utterly disgusted to learn that there are no Carl's Jr./Hardee's in Houston! OMG!

And then when I went to try to get a 2AM donut, Shipley's was closed!!! Where is the Winchell's love?!?!

Someone please help me love Houston again and tell me where the good junk is! And please... What-a-burger is crap.

Even Austin has a Carl's Jr and 7-11... My heart is forever broken.

No offense but there are finer things in life than 7-11 and Carls Jr. It's time to expand your comfort zone my friend. Good luck!

You heathen!!!

The good junk is found at certain hole-in-the-wall Mexican restaurants in SE Houston.

I've seen a few mobile snow cone / raspado stands here and there in junky strip malls. If you could chase one down, might be a good alternative to a slurpee?

7-11 isn't here becuase they all got bought-out years ago. You can get the equivalent of a slurpee at pretty much any convenience store. Burgers? Try Tornado Burger, Bellaire Broiler Burger, or Prince's. Some donut shops are 24-hour, some are not. Try a different one. =)

With all due respect, there is nothing better than a cherry Slurpee except for maybe a Braums Cherry Limeade and Braums isn't in Houston either.
