Ah, I see the Hogan Street sign in there. Looks like it's still a jacked-up area, I assume? I can remember years ago it seemed really bad.

Nice shots of the downtown skyline.

Thanks for sharing the pics! I enjoyed the tour, especially the pics over in the historic Main Street area.

Default Great!

I love Houston. It's one of the most beautiful, amazing, diverse cities on Earth. Spectacular pics, thanks for them.

(BTW, this is not far from my office; we go this way going from the 5th Ward to Montrose for lunch).

I walked around there with a pricey camera and a tuxedo with "I HAVE LARGE AMOUNTS OF CASH AND I'M UNARMED" embroidered on the back in 17 languages. Still didn't get mugged or anything.

OK, I'm joking, although nothing even remotely threatening happened.

Awesome, since I have another one coming soon that will pay a little more attention to the older buildings in that section of downtown. The ones that people don't see when they're coming in from the freeways.

That view from the Quitman bridge over 45 is probably the most common one for Houston skyline shots but all of the older buildings are completely obscured that way.

Thanks everyone as always...

Ahhh the Houston Post! Now that's a name I've not heard in a long time...a long time. Before the dark times, before...the Chronicle.

I also remember the Post; the sections were usually assembled out of order when I got it, just prior to its demise.

I also remember when you only had to dial 7 digits on the phone instead of 10. That newspaper machine must be seriously old.

It's at least from 1995 or older as that's when the Post died; the 10-digit dialing came around the same time. If anyone wants to actually see it, it's in front of Notsuoh (located in the "Clarks" space) and they probably own it. No, there aren't any old yellowed Post editions in there.
