Which radio stations do you guys listen to ? I listen to the Roula & Ryan show on KRBE in the morning as the can be quite funny and the muisc is current but you don't get great news, weather or traffic information. Any suggestions ?

Roula & Ryan = annoying & not funny, esp Roula.

I catch 740 AM in the early morning for about 30-45 minutes just to listen to the newscast, then flip on a CD whenever it repeats itself. On the way home I get a dose of Michael Savage on 950 AM because he can be thought-provoking if downright hilarious in his near-insanity. Dave Ramsey has a good show on 950 AM but it's the same old thing. He was more interesting when he was newer/more cutting-edge.

Otherwise AM and FM radio are pretty much garbage in this town. I get my music from purchased CD's, XM/Sirius on DirecTV, and burned CDs from downloaded artists I found on Pandora. Nearly all genres, you name it.

94.5 The Buzz Rod Ryan Show

The weather and traffic reports are decent in the mornings, but I find them very entertaining (Roula and Ryan are more annoying than anything to me)

My hubby would agree with you - he can't stand Roula's voice esp when she starts with the Sona Medspa Ads. I'll try your suggestions as since I have moved here (from the UK) I feel like I never hear/see news anymore other than really local stuff. I usually have my ipod plugged in on shuffle.

Theresa does Sona ads too...but I don't find her annoying in any way. Rod can be with some of "catch phrases" if you will, but I still think it's the best morning show in Houston. They talk about some fairly off the wall stuff and news.

But my husband has Sirius Satellite Radio and LOVES it. He never listens to local stations unless we are in my car (I just don't want to pay for radio, I'm just not 'there' yet!) and I believe they have sort of local weather and traffic stations?

Yes I go with the Buzz 94.5. And, if I am channel hopping and in the mood for oldie rock I go to 107.5 because I like their traffic reports. There are plenty of on-air personalities - and everyone either loves them or hates them. If you like Roula and Ryan and find them humorous and they provide what you need in terms of weather, traffic etc. - then enjoy them and program them in. Perhaps you will find some new channels to try out as well from some of the comments you get.

Don't even get me started on Houston radio stations. They all suck for the most part. Clear Channel ruined it all.

Can you listen to Neal Boortz in Houston? Also, what about Mike McConnell? I really enjoy those two along with Micheal Savage.

For FM, I listen to the Buzz most of the time.

Have to say Sirius Satelite radio is the only way to go! I get my music (whatever kind you like), my news (Fox, NPR, CNN, etc), comedy channels, weather and local traffic. Can't beat it. I NEVER listen to regular radio anymore.
