Space Cowboys and an offbeat cop/drug movie with Greg Allman, Jason Patric and Jennifer Jason Leigh - filmed in the Kemah/San Leon/Baycliff area.

Parts of Rushmore were filmed here in Housotn..at St. John's. Wes Anderson, the director, is from Houston. Also...the Best Little Whorehouse in Texas...surely there were parts filmed in Houston b/c of Marvin Zindler. And although probably not filmed here...didn't the Bad News Bears play in the Astrodome?

I think the question was clearly about movies/shows, fictional or not, ABOUT houston/featuring the average joe houstonian. not about what was produced in Houston. Dallas has Dallas the tv soap. I also read theres a Houston ER type show. doesn't sound like it can be sold to fill prime slots tho
but proceed with listing shows partly produced in Houston. NASA people are Houstonians i guess. not exactly average joe - definitely doesnt show any sign of life IMO

Way to go troll. You got the other thread shut down. And actually you keep moving the goal posts, you never mentioned anything about it featuring the average joe. You really aren't good at being a troll.

Easy now, at least it's on-topic here.

Wiz...I mean Hayato forgot Urban Cowboy. Yes, it was Saturday Night Fever in a honky tonk with a mechanical bull instead of a disco ball, but John Travolta did as genuine a portrayal of the average Texas schmo as Hollywood's seen.

Well the question on this particular post says "made in Houston" or "about Houstonians" so I think people listing movies that were filmed in Houston are answering correctly if they are reading this one and some some other one that was closed.
