First, what district are you in? Second, what area of concentration are you going into? Both colleges have their good points, but each also has specific programs that the other may not offer.

They are both fairly good community colleges with some good programs. Depends on what you are looking for and where you want to live. SJC is on the Southeast & East side -- I think you can find HCC on just about any part of town -- could be wrong about that though.

One of my neighbors in Glenbrook is the President of San Jac south, I'll ask her next time I see her and see if there are any specific differences she could name.

I live next to San Jac Central and I pass by HCC-SE quite a bit.

If you are just going for your basics, you can't go wrong with either.

I do know that SJC has some industrial programs that HCC does not have, but major selection for you to tell us about before we can help you.

I would go to whichever campus is the closest to your home? Is the tuition comparable at HCC and SJC. If not choose the school with the best price. Child Development is not a competitive field so either school should suffice?

What not Early Childhood education?

Go to HCC. It has a highly diverse faculty and student body - a haven for international transfers; no matter where you're from, you'll feel right at home here. Multiple locations throughout the Houston area (you can take classes at any location you wish) for your convenience. Flexible hours. Varied curriculum. Offers online distance-learning and traditional campus-based classes. Inexpensive. Most courses are guaranteed to transfer to a four-year program at any Texas institution. All in all a good bet.

See you in class!

If you are an international student it does not matter what district you're in. You pay out-of-state tuition anyway.

I would attend ( I actually have ) HCC. Bigger College means more classes at different times.

SJC - has either three or four campuses - most people I know who went there never had any problems getting classes at various times. Pretty much offers same things as HCC. I would say it depends upon where you plan to live and/or work.
